Integration with ERP systems such as SAP IS-U further increases efficiency and ease of implementation for most European DSOs, where SAP has a market share of 15–20%.

The SAS analytics platform, through SAS/ACCESS Interface to SAP R/3 (and ECC), enables integration with traditional SAP ERP systems via RFC.

During the successful project, the Comping team carried out a very detailed business analysis of the data in the SAP system, which is highly complex because the data is structured across three layers under different names of attributes and parameters: the user layer, the application layer, and the database layer.

The knowledge and experience accumulated during this business analysis enable fast future integrations of SAP IS-U systems with the SAS analytics platform.

Comping NTL has been developed with full support for SAP IS-U, the ERP system used by more than 200 electricity distributors in Europe. This means lower integration costs, shorter implementation timeframes, and better alignment with internal business processes.
