Thaora Distribution Intelligence solution successfully implemented at one of the largest European DSOs

Proof of concept confirmed through extensive LoRaWAN implementation
The distribution system operator implemented Thaora in several low-voltage transformer stations to increase network visibility, confirming the system’s functionality from local data collection to cloud analytics.

Comprehensive data collection and event detection
Devices collect operational measurements, microclimatic conditions, and technical events (e.g., outages, overvoltage, movements within facilities) every 15 minutes and securely transmit them to the Thaora platform.

Advanced analytics reduced field inspections and operational workload
Automatic anomaly detection replaced numerous manual field checks, delivering significant OPEX savings and faster fault response.

Seamless integration with SCADA and existing systems
Data from the LoRaWAN network is displayed and analyzed through Thaora, integrated with the DSO’s SCADA system, ensuring interoperability and a unified view of the network status.

Scalable architecture for expansion across distribution regions
Following a successful pilot project, the solution was expanded to two-thirds of the DSO’s operational areas, confirming its scalability, reliability, and readiness for full deployment.
